WIND2HYDROGEN, AUERSTHAL
The pilot plant “Wind2Hydrogen” in Auersthal in Lower Austria was in operation from January 2015 to the end of 2017. It converted electricity from wind power plants into transportable and storable hydrogen. A new electrolysis process was developed specifically for this purpose, which can react very quickly to the changing electricity loads from a wind farm and economically generate a high pressure of around 165 bar.
On behalf of OMV Gas & Power GmbH, convex ZT GmbH carried out the permit design, the construction tendering and the execution design.
