UPHY LARGE, BRUCK AN DER LEITHA
OMV is building one of Europe’s largest electrolysis plants for green hydrogen, marking another milestone on the path toward a climate-neutral energy future. The 140 MW plant in Bruck an der Leitha is scheduled to go into operation in late 2027. With this plant, OMV will produce up to 23,000 metric tons of hydrogen annually using renewable energy from wind, solar, and hydropower, thereby significantly contributing to the reduction of the company’s CO2 emissions. For this project, Siemens Energy is contributing its extensive expertise in electrolysis technology and plant engineering, while STRABAG is responsible for the construction execution.
Commissioned by STRABAG, convex ZT GmbH, together with NowyZorn ZT GmbH, is responsible for the construction and operational permit design as well as the civil works execution design.
