NOISE PROTECTION WALL, EISENERZ
On the B115 Eisenstraße, Section Eisenerz, a 359 m long noise protection wall with an effectiv height of 2,0 m is build. The foundation of the supporting steel columns consisted of drilled piles alongside the road and a new-built concrete strip foundation on the existing retaining wall.
The noise protection wall is made of usual concrete pedestals and highly absorptive noise protection elements, made of cementbonded wood fibre. The design intention is to create a continuous band, with a colour gradient from red to yellow. The vertical steel columns are placed such that change in the angle is max. 4,7°. There are only a few special elements, in general all elements are rectangular in order to facilitate production.
